Festival! Contest!

What’s that? So excited about the 2005 San Francisco Flash® Film Festival that you can hardly contain yourself? Well here’s an update to keep you occupied for the next nine days…

  • With People’s Choice voting closed since last Friday, we’re about done counting votes, and can give you some stats: 1300 nominations received; 30 judges; 16 categories; 60 finalists; over 10,000 People’s Choice votes cast; only 16 winners!
  • The Orange Rubber strip-mines in Holland are working triple shifts to extract sufficient quantities of the rare (and only slightly radioactive) material we cast into our famous award statues
  • The festival after-party is coming together very nicely. We’ll post details soon, but in our humble opinion this will be the best party ever, even better than those glory days when Macromedia and Adobe fought for your love with things like Run DMC and Parliament concerts. How can we possibly top that? Stay tuned to find out…
  • Start keeping a list of your favorite sites that didn’t make the cut this time around, because nominations will re-open on April 8 for the 2005 New York festival. There will be a very short nomination period this time around, so don’t delay!

One more thing: it’s time for a contest! Go back and finish checking out the finalists; post your projected winners in the comments and whoever guesses closest will win… something. We’ll think of something!
