Flashforward on Flickr
Have you seen The Gates: An Experiment in Collective Memory on Flickr.com?
All that pretty orange fabric got us thinking: why not use the same tools to perform our own collective memory experiment?
So we made a Flashforward tag and a Flashforward group on Flickr.
Here’s the idea: we’re going to have 1000 or so of the most tech-savvy, camera-happy people on the planet in the same place for three days. Why hoard all those snaps? If you’ve got your own blog or website you’ll be posting to, tell us where to find it and we’ll post the link. If you don’t have your own picture space, or if you already use flickr for moblogging or other ephemeral purposes, tag your images with ‘flashforward’ and we’ll all be able to find them. If you need a forum to chat, gripe, make dinner plans, whatever — feel free to use the flashforward group forum to do so.
Will anyone bother? We’ll see — that’s why we’re calling it an experiment. We’ll be adding images throughout the conference, and we hope you will too.
No need to limit yourself to images from the upcoming conference either; feel free to load up any old conference pictures swimming around your hard drive as well. (That’s what we just did, at which time we remembered that we always forget to take pictures. Oh well, it’s pretty dark backstage anyway.)

Excellent, Lee!
So you found the car, but can you tell what kind of car it is? (No reason, just being stupid.)
Don’t know whether you’re a flickr expert, but I wonder why your images don’t show up in the public ‘tag’ link, even though they are both public and tagged correctly? There was a delay before mine showed up there; maybe yours will pop in later today.
Also it’s great that you praised Mike Essl; He didn’t think he was very well-received!

This is the first time I’ve used Flickr so I’m not sure why they’re not showing up. I liked Mike’s presentation because I like it when conferences add some sessions that are not focused directly on the conference topic.
Thanks
Lee
