Firefox Flicks: Flash video testimonials

Firefoxer

Beau Ambur let us know that Metaliq has built a tool allowing Firefox fans to attach their praise for the browser to a world map, via Flash video. Be the first in your state to make a statement. The quality level of the current contributions is, um, variable, but the passion is genuine — it’s Friday, go for it!

Read the instructions first, and you’ll see there are prizes to be won! The tool is part of a new Spread Firefox campaign, which will soon include an ad contest as well, so keep an eye out for that.

And check out the very cool globe-based navigation scheme for browsing the testimonials. Beau has been doing a lot of work with Flash and coordinate data mapping lately, and he’ll be presenting on this subject at Flashforward2006 Seattle. If we learn more before then about how he made the globe work, we’ll let you know.

Cool site/idea! They should probably add som player detection code there. It’s published as Flash 8, but plays back faulty and partially if Flash Player 7 is installed….
