Last week to submit proposals for Flashforward Austin
We have already received many excellent proposals from potential speakers new and old, but we are greedy: give us more! We want to build the most solid and well-rounded program ever, so we’re looking for depth as well as breadth. If you’d enjoy teaching your peers about anything to do with the Flash platform, other tools you use, or any subject that inspires you, please share your ideas no later than this Friday, April 7. If you have five ideas, submit five proposals; we’ll read them all!

SXSW 2006 did this citizenpod.com thing that summarized the event’s schedule by day, speaker, location and bla bla bla. It was pretty much a webpage that an attendee could download to their iPod… fully navigable via the scroll wheel. Their little write-ups linked to mp3’s (it was a music festival after all), but perhaps yours could link to photos of the speakers, or maybe even a video of some sort. I don’t know the details of the citizenpod products, but i just thought it was extremely smart of them to take advantage of the iPods in the audience.
SXSW also provided a Google Earth File with restaurants and stuff for Austin.

Perhaps you could do the same (or maybe one of those flashMap thingies…)
or maybe some public transportation maps for Austin, similar to http://www.ipodsubwaymaps.com/
I’m a New York regular, but I still hope to make it this year. Thank you.
