Flashforward2000: important event!

Flashback Flashforward

Since everyone else is posting about this today too: hooray, we made the cut!

Adobe launched their interactive browser containing highlights from the past 10 years of Flash history, and hey look, there’s Flashforward, an “important event” from the year 2000!

(I guess it wouldn’t have been fair to list us as an important event every year since then; we’ll take it as a given.)

There’s a nice video of Lynda reminiscing about all the ticket counterfeiters… yeah, like photocopying a black and white slip of paper was so difficult! So much for the honor system. Hopefully some of you paid for a ticket in the years since! (Note that we implemented stringent counter-counterfeiting measures in subsequent years: you needed to find access to a color photocopier!)

There were other important milestones in the past ten years of course, so enjoy browsing through all of them!

Psst: Tokyoplastic (2002) isn’t actually based out of Tokyo, is it? We keep sending their film festival awards to the UK…

Psst: As far as I know - Second City produced John Candy and Eugene Levy while it was Second Story that produced the Theban Mapping Project. Who at Adobe is doing the fact checking?

Sad to see such simple errors in a piece that was so nicely done. Maybe a little less coding and a little more editing?
